Howto: Installing Tor and Privoxy on Backtrack 5 R3

Actually, this step is the same of Backtrack 5 R2 but I post this because I cannot find the old tutorial. So let's begin.

1. Add the tor repository into your repository list(in this tutorial, I use Backtrack 5 R3 Debian base.) Edit file /etc/apt/sources.list and put below string into it.
- deb lucid main

2. Add the new key for repository and update the software list
- gpg --keyserver --recv 886DDD89
- gpg --export A3C4F0F979CAA22CDBA8F512EE8CBC9E886DDD89 | sudo apt-key add -

- apt-get update

3. Install Tor and Privoxy
- apt-get install tor privoxy tor-geoipdb vidalia

4. Edit config in privoxy config to
- forward-socks4a / .

5. Start the privoxy.
- /etc/init.d/privoxy start

6. Config your web browser to use privoxy (localhost:8118)

7. Test it use Tor network with URL
